Marketing You Can Measure: What Even a Small Campaign Shows You

Ask a few business owners what their last ad achieved and you’ll often hear, “I think it helped?” That isn’t a criticism. Plenty of traditional advertising makes it genuinely hard to see what happened. Targeted online advertising is different, even on a small budget.

What the report shows

  • Page loads: pages that asked for your ad.
  • Impressions: ads that actually showed.
  • Failed loads: ads that didn’t show, for example because they were blocked, and which are not billed.
  • Viewable impressions: impressions with at least half the ad on screen for one second.
  • Clicks and click-through rate: visits sent to your site and how often people clicked.

You can see each day in detail, and even the hour, so you learn when your ad does well.

How to use a small campaign to learn

  • Change one thing at a time. Try a new offer or new artwork and compare the click-through rate.
  • Watch the times of day. You may find your customers respond in the morning or the early evening.
  • Be patient with small numbers. A few days of data is a hint, not proof. Look for patterns over weeks.

What measurement can’t tell you

Impressions and clicks show attention, not sales. Whether a click becomes a customer depends on your website, your offer and your service. We can’t guarantee business outcomes, but we can give you the clear numbers to judge for yourself.
